Almond Tree Cottage
A delightful self catering cottage in the parish of Advent sitting on the northern edge of Bodmin Moor and only 20 minutes from the north Cornwall coast. It is one of a small cluster of converted farm buildings, all set in pretty well-maintained grounds with lawned areas, flowering shrubs and mature trees on the estate of Trethin Manor, previously a prominent farm and one of Cornwall’s oldest houses.
The almond tree is just beside the cottage and is glorious in blossom in April and May. The cottage is tucked away down a winding lane lined with traditional Cornish hedges, drenched with snowdrops and catkins in February, joined by cheerful daffodils in March, carpets of bluebells in April/May, lush green with red campion, tiny blue violets, may blossom and bright strident gorse during the summer!
There’s plenty of opportunity to relax in and around Almond Tree Cottage: the adjacent field offers spacious recreation for children; the games room has a table tennis table, a pool table and a table football machine. And, of course, you’re deep in the Cornish countryside – why not have a walk along the River Camel; to Advent Church or to Roughtor and the Moor?
This is the perfect retreat from which to enjoy the best of Cornwall. Ideal for couples, families, cyclists, surfers and walkers.
